SEATTLE - The Gold team used three homers -- from Eric Peterson, Miles Kizer and Bradley Boyer -- to beat the Purple squad Thursday at Husky Ballpark in game two of the annual intrasquad Fall World Series.

The win squared the three-game series at one win apiece as the Purple took game one, 6-4.

Freshman Adam Cimber allowed just one run on six hits and no walks over five innings for the victory. Jacob Clem worked the final two innings to close it out.

The Purple squad took the early lead on a solo homer from catcher Pierce Rankin in the third inning.

However, in the fourth, the Gold went on top. After a one-out solo homer from catcher Miles Kizer, the Gold got a two-out, two-run double from shortstop Andy Bethel to take the lead for good.

In the fifth, freshman Eric Peterson belted a grand slam to highlight a five-run inning and, in the seventh, Bradley Boyer closed out the scoring with a three run homer.

Peterson also doubled in the game and finished 2-for-3 with four RBI. Joe Meggs and Brendan Gardner-Young also had two hits for the Gold. Freshman Jacob Lamb posted a game-high three hits for the Purple.

The series -- and the UW baseball fall practice season -- concludes later today (Friday) with a 3:00 p.m. game at Husky Ballpark. Sunday, the annual Alumni Game gets underway at noon.
