Berry To Play In Alaska League All-Star Game Today

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Washington's Branden Berry will represent his summer team, the Matsu Miners, in the annual Alaska Baseball League All-Star Game, which will be played today in Anchorage. Berry, a sophomore to be from Escondido, Calif., will play for the gold team in today's game. He is currently batting .284 with eight doubles and 15 RBI in 29 games for the Miners. Berry joins a long list of Huskies who have made summer-league all-star teams in 2012. Robert Pehl (Yarmouth-Dennis Red Sox) will start in the Cape Cod League game while Michael Camporeale (Edenton Steamers) will play in the Coastal Plain League All-Star game tomorrow. The following day, Andrew Ely (Bellingham Bells) and Tyler Kane (Wenatchee Applesox) will play int he West Coast League game. Earlier this summer, Nick Palewicz (Santa Barbara Foresters) was a California Collegiate League all-star. |
