Will Fenton, the closer on the University of Washington baseball team, was named a third- team All-American today by Baseball America.

Fenton, a sophomore right-hander from Kingston, Wash. (North Kitsap High), was an All-Pac-10 first-team selection this season after leading the league in saves (12) and finishing the year with a spotless 0.00 earned run average. Fenton wored 32 innings over 18 outings, allowing only 16 hits, 11 walks and 49 strikeouts.

Baseball America named only three relief pitchers to its three All-America teams. Houston's Ryan Wagner was the first-team pick and Texas' Huston Street took second-team honors.

Fenton, also named third-team All-America by Collegiate Baseball, is spending his summer pitching for the Fairbanks (Alaska) Goldpanners.
