New Field Turf Completed

Feb. 16, 2005

After the entire field was in place, the workers laid down sand and rubber fill.

 The old tiles that made up much of the warning track have been removed

 The old tiles have been replaced by purple turf.
Workers put the finishing touches on one of the on-deck circles

 A purple warning track circles the entire field.

 Baselines are sewn in permanently in the new field.
The color of the new turf nearly replicates the true color of grass and dirt.

 The W logo indicates the on-deck circle.

 The infield turf appears to be dirt from a distance.
The Huskies get warmed up on their new surface.

 The UW practices on Tuesday, Feb. 15.

 The field is essentially complete, with only a little work to be done on the mound and plate
