Feb. 11, 2005

IRVINE, Calif. - The eighth-ranked Washington baseball team's 2005 season opener, scheduled for Friday evening at UC Irvine, has been postponed due to rain.

The Huskies will instead have to wait until Saturday to get the season underway when they play a doubleheader at Anteater Field, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Pacific Time. The second game will follow approximately a half-hour after the conclusion of the first game. Sunday's series finale is also slated for a 1:00 p.m. start.

UW All-America sophomore Tim Lincecum is expected to take the mound in game one, squaring off with UCI's Chris Nicoll. The scheduled starters for game two are Husky sophomore Kyle Parker vs. Irvine southpaw Glenn Swanson.

Despite the schedule change, live stats and live audio of both games will still be available at gohuskies.com, beginning at 1:00 p.m.
