SEATTLE - The 12th-ranked Wichita State baseball team handed Washington a pair of losses Thursday at Husky Ballpark, beating the Huskies, 15-1 and 5-2.

In game one, which started Wednesday night but was suspended due to rain and was picked up Thursday afternoon, the Washington pitching staff issued 17 walks. Four Husky freshmen worked in relief of senior Matt Hampton (1-0), who did not get out of the first and took the loss. Nate Robertson (3-0) worked five shutout innings for the victory.

Aaron Abram hit a double, a grand slam and drove in four to lead the Shockers offense. Third baseman Koyie Hill also had four RBI on two hits. The UW scored its only run when Richard Hall doubled and scored on Brent Robertsons single in the seventh.

In game two, which was halted after five innings due to rain, WSU ace Ben Christensen was nearly unhittable, striking out eight of the nine Husky batters he faced. Christensen (5-1) worked only three innings by his coach's pre-determination, and earned the win. He faced the minimum nine batters through his three innings, surrending only a fly out other than the eight Ks.

The Shockers (19-6) scored four runs in the fifth, including two on an Abram double. UW sophomore starter Mike Bomar (0-1) worked all five innings, allowing three earned runs, to suffer the loss.

The Huskies' two runs in the game were scored in the fifth on a home run by sophomore right fielder Tyson Boston.

The Huskies (12-8 overall, 1-2 Pac-10) return to conference action this weekend with a three-game series vs. UCLA at Husky Ballpark. Saturday and Sunday's games are at 1:00 p.m. Monday's finale begins at 2:00 p.m.
