Gold Takes Fall World Series With 6-1 Victory

UW baseball's fall practice season wraps up.

WASHINGTON
2011: Appeared in 17 games, 16 of them in relief and one as a starter, as a true freshman ... pitched a scoreless inning of relief in college debut Feb. 20 vs. Air Force ... struck out three without allowing a hit or a run in an inning and one-third March 11 vs. Dallas Baptist ... worked one scoreless inning each vs. UAPB (March 22) and UCLA (April 2) ... worked three and two-thirds out of the bullpen April 16 vs. Cal, allowing no runs and one hit ... pitched two and two-thirds April 30 at WSU, allowing no runs, hits or walks while striking out five ... longest outing of the season was May 6 at Stanford, going five innings, allowing one run on five hits ... pitched four scoreless innings of relief May 16 vs. Pacific, allowing no runs on just one hit ... struck out two in an inning and one-third vs. ASU, allowing no runs on a hit ... lone start of the season came vs. Washington State in a non-conference game in Pasco, Wash., on May 24 ... no decision despite allowing only one run on three hits with five strikeouts over four innings vs. the Cougars ... pitched a scoreless inning May 29 at Arizona ... played for the LaCrosse Loggers in the Northwoods League over the summer.

KENTLAKE HIGH SCHOOL: Earned three varsity letters playing for coach Jason Evans ... honorable mention All-SPSL North as a senior despite missing much of the year with injury ... second-team All-SPSL North as a pitcher and second baseman as a junior ... made the all-league first team as a pitcher as a sophomore in 2008, when Kentlake won the league and district and finished second in state ... graduated with a 3.48 grade point average.
