Former Husky outfielder Taylor Johnson joined the UW baseball staff in 2012 as its director of operations. The 2013 will be his first in the role.
Johnson, who earned four letters for the Washington baseball program from 2002 to 2005, oversees the majority of administrative functions for the program, including organization of team activities and travel.
He earned his bachelor's degree in sociology in 2005 and is scheduled to complete his master's in intercollegiate athletic leadership, also from the UW, this June.
Following a college career in which he helped lead the Huskies to three NCAA tournament appearances, Johnson was drafted by the Reds in 2005. He played for the Reds' team in the Gulf Coast League and then played for both Gateway and Chillicothe in the independent Frontier League.
Johnson, who worked in sales, management and marketing before enrolling in graduate school, has coached with the Washington Athletics youth team program and at the high school level.
