2012 UW Baseball Preview, Part III: Outfielders

Huskies take the field for real a week from today at San Diego State.

PERSONAL: Born in Mountain View, Calif. ... son of Karen and Tim Sparks ... has two sisters, Michelle and Shannon ... undecided on a major, but considering architecture or business.

WASHINGTON
2011: Played in 28 games, starting nine, as a true freshman ... all nine starts came in the outfield (four in right, three in left, two in center) ... notched a hit in first game, Feb. 20, vs. Air Force ... first start was March 10 vs. Dallas Baptist ... 1-for-1 with an RBI and two HBPs March 12 vs. DBU ... 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI April 12 vs. SeattleU ... top game came in a start May 14 vs. Oregon State, when he was 4-for-5 with a double, a triple and two RBI ... doubled and scored on a bases-loaded walk for the winning run in the ninth inning as the UW beat Oregon State, 7-6, in that one... went 3-for-5 over two games at Arizona in the final series of the season ... played summer ball for the Neptune Beach Pearl of the Far West League.
