COLLEGE OF SAN MATEO: Played two seasons at San Mateo under coach Doug Williams ... as a sophomore, went 3-0 with a remarkable 0.25 ERA ... pitched in 12 games, all in relief, working a total of 36.0 innings ... allowed only 14 hits (13 singles, one double) and one run while striking out 33 ... led the state in ERA, opponent batting average (.120) and hits per nine innings (3.50) ... earned All-Northern California and first-team Pacific Association Division All-America ... also first-team All-Golden Gate Conference and CCCBA All-America ... named first-team Academic All-State in 2011, thanks to a 3.56 grade point average ... 1-0 with a 3.18 ERA in 12 appearances as a freshman in 2010.
