Huskies ink seven future Dawgs during early signing period.
Jim Fitzgerald joined the UW baseball staff in 2010 as its director of operations. In that role, he oversees much of the organization of team activities, including travel, recruiting arrangements and much more.
Prior to joining the Husky staff, Fitzgerald had worked for the Seattle Mariners since 1996. Most recently, he was the northwest area scout for the M's, but had previously worked as assistant to the VP of scouting, as a baseball operations assistant, as a regional marketing manager and as an account executive. He got his start in professional baseball as the director of operations for the Spokane Indians.
Fitzgerald, who grew up in San Jose, Calif., and attended Bellarmine Prep, played baseball at Gonzaga, earning his degree in public relations in 1991. He also earned a master's degree in athletic administration from Gonzaga in 1995.
He was the team captain of the Bulldogs in 1992 after a high-school career that included making all-state and earning a spot in the Santa Clara Valley Youth Hall of Fame.
Jim and his wife, Wendy, are the parents of seven-year old Jamie and five-year old Katherine. They reside in Woodinville.
