SEATTLE - Sophomore Katie Flood from the women's cross country team has been named the GoHuskies.com Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Nov. 21-27. This is the third such honor for Flood on the year.

The Des Moines, Iowa native, finished seventh at the NCAA Cross Country Championships on Nov. 21 in Indiana with a time 19:47 over the 6,000-meter course.

As a team, the Huskies were leading at the halfway point and finished second with 170 points, just eight points behind the national champion Georgetown Hoyas. It was the third top-three finish in the past four years for UW and the second-best finish in school history.

UW was first in 2008, third in 2009 and after placing 16th last year moved all the way up to second.

The eight point margin between first and second marked the closest finish since 2003 and the eighth-closest margin in the 31-year history of the meet.

Flood earned All-America honors by placing seventh and became the fifth top-10 finisher in Husky history.

Other nominees include: Tony Wroten (men's basketball), Kasen Williams (football), Regina Rogers (women's basketball) and Krista Vansant (volleyball).
