Katie Flood Captures Pac-12 Cross Country Title

Flood an upset individual winner, becoming the third Husky women's champion.

High School and Personal: Born in Englewood, Colorado ... parents are Cory Kerr Fulton and Curtis Fulton ... capped off an historic senior season by finishing second at the 2011 Jim Ryun Dream Mile in New York, running 4:42.90, the second-best time in the U.S. ... swept the Colorado 5A State Track Championships her senior year, winning titles at 800-meters, 1,600-meters, and 3,200-meters to finish with eight individual track titles for her career ... completed a four-year reign as state champ at 1,600-meters ... also won the high school mile run at the 2011 Stanford Invitational in 4:50.78 ... at UW's own Dempsey Indoor, took sixth in the mile at the 2011 Brooks PR Invite in 4:53.65 ... a Foot Locker All-American in cross country, placing 13th at the 2010 Foot Locker Cross Country National Championships as a senior ... back-to-back top-five finishes at Nike Cross Nationals in Portland, placing fifth in 2009 and third in 2008 ... a three-time top-five finisher at the Colorado state cross country meet ... as a junior on the track, won the 1,600m and 3,200m titles and was second at 800-meters with a PR of 2:10.04 ... named the 2010 Gatorade Colorado Girls Track & Field Athlete of the Year ... competed for Team USA at the 2010 World Junior Track & Field Championships in Moncton, Canada, qualifying for the 3,000m steeplechase final and taking 12th overall after running a PR of 10:25.89 in the prelims ... qualified for Junior Worlds by placing second in the steeple at the 2010 U.S. Junior Championships in Des Moines, Iowa ... placed sixth at the 2010 Jim Ryun Dream Mile in New York, running at time of 4:45.56 to place one spot behind current Husky Katie Flood ... took third in the mile at 2010 Nike Indoor Nationals in Boston ... a three-time top-five finisher at the Colorado state cross country meet ... graduated with a 4.2 grade point average.
