2010-11: The Pac-10 Cross Country Newcomer of the Year, becoming the third Husky to win that honor, and was named to the All-Pac-10 First Team ... led Washington at all three postseason meets, including a 78th-place finish at her first NCAA Championship race in which the Huskies finished 16th ... earned top newcomer honors despite not beginning her season until the Pre-National Meet, UW's fourth race of the season ... was 23rd at Pre-Nats in her first official race, second among Huskies, in 20:48 ... followed that up with an outstanding sixth-place effort at the Pac-10 Championships in Seattle, leading UW to a third-place tie with second-ranked Oregon, in a season-best time of 20:13 ... led the Huskies to the NCAA West Region team title two weeks later in Springfield, Ore. as she placed sixth overall once again to earn All-West Region honors ... was the top freshman finisher at both Pac-10s and Regionals ... coming off a stress fracture over the summer, her first race was the Emerald City Open, where she placed third overall competing unattached ... during the indoor track season, returned to cross country for the 2011 U.S. Junior Cross Country Championships, where she placed third overall in San Diego to earn a spot on the Team USA roster for the Junior World Championships ... at the 2011 World Championships in Punta Umbria, Spain, she placed 19th overall as the second finisher for Team USA, helping the junior team to a seventh-place finish ... also named captain of Team USA at the World Championships ... High School and Personal: Born in Des Moines, Iowa ... parents are Ann and Steve Flood ... has one older sister, Betsy, and two younger sisters, Molly and Annie ... Betsy is a standout distance runner at the University of Iowa ... one of the top distance recruits in the nation, she captured the 2009 Nike Cross Nationals individual title ... went on to place eighth at the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships just a week after her Nike Cross Nationals win, earning All-America honors ... named the Gatorade Iowa Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year in 2007-08 and again in 2009-10 ... placed third at the 2009 Foot Locker Midwest Regional ... a three-time Iowa 4A State cross country champion ... led her team to a third consecutive state team title in 2009 ... also placed eighth at the 2007 Footlocker National Championships as a sophomore after placing second at the Midwest Regional meet ... also finished as the individual runner-up at the Nike Cross National meet in 2007 ... cemented her track legacy by winning four Iowa 4A State titles as a senior, sweeping the 800m, 1,500m, and 3,000m individual titles, and anchoring the winning 4x800-meter relay ... she won four-straight 3,000-meter state titles and set the state record at 9:27 ... won six career titles at the legendary Drake Relays, including four-straight 3,000-meter titles, and set a stadium record for high schoolers of 9:43.39 in the 3k as a senior ... one of just three women ever to win four-straight Drake Relay titles as a prep ... set the Iowa prep state record in the 1,500-meters in a Drake Relay win in 2010, clocking 4:28.30 ... took fifth in the 2010 Jim Ryun Dream Mile in New York, running 4:44.
