Be A Part of the Husky Track and Field Family At the MPSF Championships!

Feb. 21, 2007

SEATTLE - The University of Washington track and field program is thrilled to invite you to come and cheer on the Husky Track Team this weekend at the 2007 MPSF Track and Field Championships at Dempsey Indoor.

Washington's fifth-ranked men's team will be defending its 2006 conference title against Pac-10 foes Oregon, WSU, UCLA, Arizona, Arizona State, Cal and Stanford, as well as Big West opponent Long Beach State, and will feature numerous rising stars in the track and field world, including 2006 NCAA 800-meter champion Ryan Brown, two-time long jump All-American Norris Frederick and freshman pole vault phenom Scott Roth.

The Husky women, too, are sure to provide many thrills, with 2006 NCAA 1,500-meter champion Amy Lia taking to the track in the 3,000 meters, and four-time All-American Ashley Lodree bidding for an unprecedented MPSF title sweep in the 60-meter dash, 200-meter dash and 60-meter hurdles.

A tent for UW alumni and friends will be set up at the South end of Dempsey from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday to allow alumni the chance to catch up with old friends and fellow track and field supporters.

The fun continues following the meet with a reception at The RAM restaurant, located about 1/2-mile north of the Dempsey in University Village, from 4:30-6:30 p.m.

If you plan to attend either event, please R.S.V.P. to kathrc@u.washington.edu. We look forward to seeing you there!
