FLOTRACK HUSKY CLASSIC
SEATTLE - Washington track and field hosts the Flotrack Husky Classic this Friday and Saturday. The event is a high point for the UW program and has become a centerpiece for the NCAA indoor track season, with many of the fastest times of the year achieved in the Dempsey Indoor this weekend.
Flotrack.org serves as a title sponsor for the second year and will broadcast the event live online. Flotrack will go live on Friday from 5-6 p.m. to show the distance medley relays and the invitational heats of the 5,000-meters, then resume broadcasting for the invitational track races on Saturday, scheduled for 3-6 p.m.
In addition to the Flotrack coverage, GoHuskies.com will provide a live video feed for the races outside of the Flotrack broadcast windows.
Also new to the Dempsey this year will be a video board suspended at the south end of the facility that will broadcast the races and make every turn of the track easier for spectators to follow no matter where they stand on the infield.
GoHuskies.com has also created a new Dempsey Central page to keep up to speed with the nation's fastest indoor track.
Teams from all parts of the country will be sending contingents to Seattle. A few teams with longer treks include Clemson, Florida, Georgetown, Illinois, Kansas, Kentucky, Minnesota, Ohio State, Penn State, Syracuse, Tennessee, Virginia, and Wisconsin. As usual the Pac-12 will have a strong presence, with squads from Arizona, Arizona State, California, Colorado, Oregon, Stanford, UCLA, Utah, and Washington State.
