Season Preview: Vault, Jumps, Multis

Washington brings back eight student-athletes that made NCAA West Prelims last year in the jumps.

2012: Competed twice in the high jump indoors, with a best mark of 5-0 ¼ at the UW Indoor Preview ... did not compete during the outdoor season.

2011: Had a very consistent season in the high jump ... cleared a season-best 5-2 ½ at the UW-WSU dual, finishing fourth ... seventh at the Pepsi Team Invite, jumping 5-0 ¼ ... indoors, cleared 5-2 ¼ at three straight meets, the UW Indoor Preview, UW Invitational, and Husky Classic.

2010: Redshirted the season, competing unattached in the high jump indoors and out ... had matching season-bests both in and outdoors in the season finales, clearing 5-2 ¼ at the Ken Shannon Invite outdoors and also at the UW Final Qualifier indoors ... cleared 5-feet for the first time at the Husky Classic, going 5-1 ¾.

High School and Personal: Born in Albany, New York ... parents are Lisa and Sam Verhovek ... has one older brother, Gordie, and one younger brother, Johnny ... brother Gordie played football at Washington his freshman year ... a three-year letterwinner for Holy Names ... placed 10th at the 3A Washington state meet in the high jump as a senior with a clearance of 5-feet even ... won the SeaKing district high jump title, clearing 5-3 ... won the Metro League high jump title in 2008 and was second in 2009.
