High School and Personal: Born in Walnut Creek, California ... parents are Hildy and Doug Van Wyck ... has one older brother, Robb, who is a distance runner at St. Mary's ... twice qualified for the CIF state meet in the pole vault, placing 16th his senior season ... won the North Coast Section Meet of Champions in 2011 and the Tri-Valley Area Championship in 2010 and 2011 ...cleared career-best 15-4 in winning the Tri-Valley meet in 2010 ... cleared season-best 15-2 as a senior ...was eighth at the 2011 Arcadia Invite with a clearance of 14-7 ... named to the Contra Costa Times Track & Field First Team as a senior ... a four-time North Coast Section Scholar Athlete ... an accomplished gymnast, he won the 2009 Level 9 Northern California titles in rings, high bar, parallel bars, and all-around ... achieved Eagle Scout status ... interested in becoming a fire fighter ... graduated with a 3.78 GPA.
