James Alaka qualifies for Iowa in three events, the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m relay.
Twelve athletes from each event in the West Region will advance on to Iowa for the semis and finals.
Nine of the 30 Huskies heading for Austin will be making their NCAA Prelim debuts.
Both Washington track teams place in the top half of the conference standings.

2012: Made it to the NCAA West Preliminary Championships for the first time as part of UW's 4x400-meter relay ... running in his final meet, he anchored the 4x400m relay at West Prelims in Austin, as the group finished 21st overall in a time of 3:11.73 ... scored at the Pac-12 Championships on the relay, anchoring the group to a fifth-place finish in a season-best 3:10.36 ... also ran the 400m hurdles at Pac-12s for the fourth time in his career, finishing 11th in a season-best 53.49 seconds ... also ran 53.52 at the UW-WSU Dual, taking fifth ... fifth in the 400m hurdles at the Pepsi Team Invite ... indoors, ran the 60m hurdles, 400m, and 800m ... best 60m hurdles time of 8.81 seconds in a seventh-place finish at the UW Invitational.

2010: Competed at his third Pac-10 Championships, and scored as part of UW's 4x400m relay, which was seventh in 3:17.35 ... took 14th in the 400-meter hurdles at Pac-10s ... also ran lead-off for UW's fastest 4x4 of the season, which clocked 3:15.67 at the Ken Shannon Invite ... clocked a season-best 400m hurdles time of 54.59 at the Ken Shannon ... won the intermediate hurdles at the Mondo Invite in a time of 55.57 ... seventh at the Pepsi Team Invitational in the hurdles with a time of 54.93 ... competed five times indoors, mostly in the open 400m and the 4x400m relay ... finished 13th at the MPSF Championships in the 400-meters with a season-best time of 49.51 seconds ... second up on the top indoor 4x4 relay which ran 3:17.96 to take fourth at the Husky Classic.
2009: Again competed at the Pac-10 Championships, placing 16th in the 400m hurdles ... set a personal best in the 400m hurdles at the UW-WSU dual, finishing fourth in 53.17 ... won the Ralph Vernacchia Meet 400m hurdles in 53.81 ... also ran the lead-off leg on every 4x400m relay outdoors, with a best time of 3:14.14 at the WSU dual ... indoors, scored on UW's 4x400m relay at the MPSF Championships as the Huskies took fifth in 3:13.53 ... 21st in the 400m dash at MPSFs ... ran career-best 400-meters at the Husky Classic, clocking 48.76.
2008: Concentrated on the 400-meters during the indoor season before tackling the 400m hurdles outdoors ... earned his way to the Pac-10 Championships where he placed 15th overall in the 400m hurdles in a season-best time of 53.85 seconds ... placed second in the 400m IH at the Oregon Invitational ... won the 400m IH at the UW Outdoor Preview and the PLU Invitational ... top 400m time indoors of 49.64 at the UW Invitational.
