Outdoor Season Opener Takes Huskies To USC

UW starts the outdoor season competing against NCAA Champs Texas A&M and three Pac-12 rivals.

2012: Competed at both the Pac-12 and MPSF Championships in the high jump ... led the team indoors with a high jump best of 5-feet, 6-inches at the UW Indoor Preview ... cleared 5-5 ¾ at the Husky Classic, placing eighth ... tied for 16th at the MPSF Championships, going 5-4 ¼ ... outdoors, no heighted at the Pac-12 Championships ... matched her indoor best with a 5-6 clearance at the Pepsi Team Invitational, finishing sixth ... fourth at the UW-WSU Dual, going 5-4 ½ ... earned Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention.

2011: Suffered an injury after the first meet of the indoor season, which kept her out of action for over three months ... tied for fourth in her first high jump before the injury, clearing 5-4 ¼ at the UW Indoor Preview ... returned to action at the Ken Shannon Invite in May, clearing 5-3 for second ... tied for 12th at the Pac-10 Championships, clearing a new outdoor best of 5-4 ½.

2010: Competed exclusively in the high jump for the Huskies in her first official season, ranking second indoors and out ... set her outdoor PR with a victory at the WWU Twilite Meet, where she went up and over 5-4 ¼ ... fourth at the UW-WSU dual meet in the high jump ... took sixth at the Pepsi Team Invite with a mark of 5-feet, 3-inches ... indoors, matched her outdoor best with a 5-4 ¼ clearance at the UW Indoor Preview ... took 17th at the MPSF Championships as she cleared the bar at 5-2 ½ ... earned first career Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention.

2009: Redshirted the season, competing unattached three times indoors and once outside ... season-best high jump of 5-6 came at the UW Invitational ... also cleared 5-4 ¼ at the UW Indoor Preview and cleared 5-3 outdoors at the Ken Shannon Invitational.

High School and Personal: Born in Seattle, Wash. ... parents are Loma and Scott Soules ... has one older sister, Natalie ... is the 17th member of her family to attend the University of Washington back to great-grandparents ... several family members have rowed crew at UW including her father in 1972 ... also lettered in volleyball from 2005-07 and was a two-time team MVP and all-conference in 2006 and 2007 ... three-time All-WesCo conference honoree in track after winning the WesCo high jump title from 2006-08 ... three-time 4A state track participant, with a best placing of 7th in 2007 with a clearance of 5-2.
