Huskies Collect Personal Bests In A Day At The Beach

UW turns its attention to the dual with the Cougars next weekend.

2011: Started her outdoor season with a new personal-best, as she threw the javelin 140-7 at the Pepsi Team Invitational, good for sixth-place and the seventh-best throw in school history with the new implement ... that mark qualified her for her first career NCAA West Preliminary Championships, though she had a tough series and finished 46th overall ... made the javelin final at the Pac-10 Championships, placing ninth overall with a best of 134-9 ... threw 133-7 at the UW-WSU dual meet for fourth-place.

2010: Solid first season in the javelin throw, and was very consistent, with every throw between 122 and 136 feet ... won her Husky debut at the CNW Spring Break Open, throwing 135-2 that lifted her straight into the Husky Top-10 ... improved that mark at the UW-WSU dual with a throw of 136-3 that was good for sixth in the deepest field in the dual meet ... is tied for seventh on the UW Top-10 after her first year, tied with fellow freshman Ally Mueller ... took sixth at the Pepsi Team Invite, flinging the jav 124-1 ... ended the season sixth at the Ken Shannon at 125-9.

High School and Personal: Born in Renton, Washington ... parents are Dana and Bryan Seekins ... has one younger sister, Erin ... lettered all four years and was a team captain in 2008 and 2009 ... a three-time Washington state qualifier on the 2A level, placing third in the javelin as a senior with a throw of 140-feet, 10-inches, that was sixth-best among all state meet levels ... captured the Greater St. Helens League javelin title as a senior and won districts as a junior and senior ... named First Team All-GSHL as a senior ... twice competed at the Border Duel, taking second in the javelin in 2009 with a mark of 135-3 ... also excelled in soccer and basketball, captaining both teams and earning all-league honorable mention and the Coaches Award for soccer in 2007, as well as Most Inspirational for basketball in 2008 and 2009.
