Season Preview: Vault, Jumps, Multis

Washington brings back eight student-athletes that made NCAA West Prelims last year in the jumps.

High School and Personal: Born in Seattle ... parents are Joyce Roland and Clarence Roland III ... has one brother, Clarence, and two sisters Jean and Jameela ... one of the top all-around athletes in the state ... her senior season she took second at the Washington 4A state meet in the triple jump, was seventh in the high jump, and third in the 100m hurdles ... followed that with an eighth-place finish in the heptathlon at the state multi-event championships ... as a junior she was the state runner-up in the high jump with a personal-best clearance of 5-feet, 7-inches ... won four SPSL individual titles over her career ... also was sixth at the 2010 state meet in the triple jump, going 37-0 ¼ ... competed at state as a sophomore in the high jump, triple jump, and 4x100-meter relay, and 4x200-meter relay ... third at state in the high jump as just a freshman, clearing 5-6, and won the district meet ... also lettered four years on the Federal Way girls basketball team that made the state finals her senior year, and lettered two years in volleyball ... named Federal Way High School Female Athlete of the Year in 2011 ... graduated with a 3.5 GPA and considering a career in special education.
