NCAA Title For Women's Distance Medley Relay

UW's Chelsea Orr, Jordan Carlson, Baylee Mires, and Katie Flood wins the DMR title at the NCAA Indoor Championships.

2011-12 (Cross Country): Redshirted the fall season to preserve a year of eligibility ... did not see competition.

High School and Personal: Born in Spokane, Washington ... parents are Amy and John Mires ... mother works as an ER nurse and father is a high school teacher and head boys track coach ... father competed in track at Eastern Washington, and grandfather played football and track at USC ... has one older sister, Jessica, and one younger brother, John ... Washington State's top middle distance runner over the past three years collecting a total of seven Washington 4A state titles on the track ... won the 800-meter state title from 2009 to 2011, setting a PR in the state final her senior year of 2:10.28 ... won the state 1,600-meter title as a sophomore and junior but did not finish the final at state as a senior ... also captured 4x400m relay titles in 2009 and 2010 ... second at state as a senior in her first 400-meters final, after a PR of 57.30 in the prelims ... three titles in 2010 helped Mead to the state team title ... also was second at state as a freshman in the 1,600m and the 4x4 relay ... third in the 800-meters at the 2011 Brooks PR Invite at the Dempsey on UW's campus, running 2:12.95 ... ranked 21st nationally in the mile in 2010 with a PR of 4:54.39 at the Arcadia Invite ... also a standout cross country runner, placed fifth at the Washington 4A State Championships in both 2009 and 2010 as a junior and senior, and won league and district cross titles both years ... as a junior in 2009, placed 12th at the Foot Locker West Regional, barely missing a spot at nationals ... graduated with a 3.8 GPA.
