SAC Relays, with nearly fifty Huskies in action. 04/04/2013 Track Travels To Hayward For Pepsi Team InviteDucks, Cougars, and Aggies of Texas A&M await the Huskies in the first of just two regular season scored meets. 2012: One of the top mid-distance runners on the squad, running at his first Pac-12 Championships ... at Pac-12s in Oregon, finished 17th in the prelims of the 1,500-meters, running 3:53.33 ... alternated between the 800m and 1,500m ... finished first in his section at the Oregon Twilight Meet, sixth overall, with a season-best outdoor time of 1:51.61 for 800-meters ... fifth in the 1,500m at the UW-WSU Dual, clocking 3:52.62 ... best 1,500m time was 3:51.79 at Mt. SAC Relays ... indoors, was second on the team at 800m with a time of 1:51.50 at the Husky Classic, placing third ... ran a mile PR of 4:11.97 at the UW Invite ... was 25th in the 800m at MPSFs ... a Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention. 2011: Ended his first season on a high note, running a PR of 1:51.75 in the 800-meters at the Ken Shannon Invite, placing fourth ... eighth at the Oregon Relays, running 1:53.19 ... outdoor debut at the Stanford Invite, going 3:58.41 in his only 1,500m of the season ... indoors, ran an impressive mile debut at the UW Invitational, stopping the clock at 4:12.90 ... third in the 800m at the UW Indoor Preview in a time of 1:52.71 ... twice ran on the 4x400m relay, a best of 3:21.53 at the Husky Classic. High School and Personal: Born in Seattle ... parents are Julie and Bill Blume ... sister Courtney is also a freshman at Washington ... both parents attended Washington as well as did numerous aunts, uncles, and grandparents going back four generations ... was the Washington State 3A runner-up at 800-meters in 2010, clocking 1:53.75 in the final ... won the Metro League title as a senior, running a PR of 1:53.38 to set the school record ... also ran a school-record 49.4 in the 400-meters and set the 4x800m relay record ... named Team MVP as a senior ... placed 12th in the 800-meters at the state meet as a junior in 2009 ... did not compete in track until his junior year, playing tennis as a freshman and soccer as a sophomore ... four-year honor roll student and graduated with honors ... ran varsity cross country for the first time as a senior, placing 12th at the district meet and 83rd overall at the state meet, helping the team to seventh overall, earning Newcomer of the Year honors ... graduated with a 3.6 GPA.
