Former Prep Champs Ready To Accelerate

Krinik and Curtis both made their long-awaited Husky debuts at the UW Invitational.

2012: Made his collegiate debut, focusing on the 800-meters all season ... fastest run of the year was at the Husky Classic indoors, where he was 10th in a time of 1:51.89 ... outdoor best came in his final race of the season, as he clocked 1:52.11 at the UW-WSU Dual, finishing fifth ... also seventh in the 800m at the Pepsi Team Invite in 1:52.33.

2011: Redshirted the season to presserve a year of eligibility.

High School and Personal: Born in Van Nuys, California ... parents are Helen McCarthy-Krinik and Alan Krinik ... the top 800-meter runner in the nation in 2010, capturing the high school national championship with a win at New Balance Nationals in Greensboro, North Carolina in a time of 1:49.54 ... named the Gatorade Boys Track Athlete of the Year for California ... posted the fastest time by any high school athlete by more than half a second as he defended his California state title in a PR of 1:48.20, which ranks as the eighth-fastest time ever by an American prep ... broke the 1:50 barrier for the first time at California Southern Sectionals, dominating by more than three seconds with a time of 1:49.77 ... followed that with a win at the 2010 CIF Masters Meet in 1:49.18 ... also named Orange County Track Athlete of the Year ... the 2009 California state champion at 800-meters and the top junior in the country in 2009 ... went undefeated in the 800m his junior year, winning California Southern Sectionals, the Masters meet, and the state meet in a then-personal best of 1:51.42 ... swept the 800m and 1600m titles at the Emerald League Championships in 2009 and again in 2010 ... also won the 800m and 1600m at the 2009 Meet of Champions, and the 800m at the Orange County City Championships ... top mile time of 4:14 came in a fourth-place finish at the 2010 Arcadia Invite ... finished his cross country career in strong fashion, placing 12th at the California Division-II state meet to lead his team to third overall ... hobbies include rock climbing and mountain biking and is considering studying engineering.
