2011-12 (Cross Country): Redshirted the fall after an ankle sprain right before the season opener ... did not see competition.

High School and Personal: Born in Coupeville, Washington ... parents are Laurie and Randy King ... has one older sister, Brianne, and an older brother, Kyle ... Kyle runs track and cross country at Eastern Washington and Brianna played basketball at Willamette University ... won the 1A Washington State cross country title as a senior running for Coupeville, winning by more than 30 seconds in a time of 15:16 that ranked third-fastest across all divisions ... did not lose a race his senior year up to the WA-OR BorderClash where he placed 10th overall ... prior to 2010, competed for Oak Harbor at the 4A level, and was fifth at the 4A Washington state meet as a junior in 2009, 22nd as a sophomore, and 99th his freshman year ... as a senior on the track in 2011, he took second at 800-meters, 1,600-meters, and 3,200-meters in the 1A finals ... second at the 2011 Shoreline Invite in a new 1,600m PR of 4:12.97 ... took the 1A state track titles at 1,600-meters and 3,200-meters in 2010 and was second at 800-meters ... second at state at 3,200-meters as a sophomore in 2009 and was fourth at 1,600m .... won a combined seven league titles on the track ... also lettered three years in basketball.
