2012: Enjoyed the best season in school history for a UW quarter-miler, breaking her own 400-meter school record four times outdoors, setting the indoor school record, and being a part of the NCAA Championships distance medley relay ... ran the 400-meter leg on the DMR, which captured the first ever indoor national title for the women's program, running 11:05.20 at the NCAA Indoor Championships in Nampa, Idaho ... earned All-America First Team honors on the DMR ... the DMR also smashed the school record earlier in the season, running 10:55.01 at the MPSF Championships, which was the No. 5 time in NCAA history, while also setting the MPSF meet record and the Dempsey facility record ... broke the indoor 400m school record at MPSFs, placing fourth in a time of 54.67 ... anchored the 4x400m relay to a second-place finish at the Husky Classic in 3:45.13, the fourth-best time in school history, and a 3:45.99 time at MPSFs, the No. 7 mark in school history ... moving outdoors, she broke her own school record four times, and combined with preliminary heat times she wound up running the eight fastest 400-meter races in UW history over her career ... her top time came in the finals of the Pac-12 Championships, where she ran 53.03 seconds to take third and get on the podium ... had her season ended in heartbreaking fashion in the NCAA West Prelim quarterfinals, as she finished 13th overall by .01 seconds with the top 12 advancing to the final site ... her NCAA quarterfinal time of 53.34 seconds was actually the 11th-best time, but two slower times earned auto spots out of slower heats ... first broke her school record at the Pepsi Team Invitational, running 53.84 to become the first Husky under 54 seconds ... lowered that mark at the Mt. SAC Relays, stopping the clock at 53.73 seconds, taking fourth in the open heats ... took another big chunk off the record at the UW-WSU Dual, winning a key battle with WSU's Shawna Fermin, in a time of 53.15 seconds ... anchored the 4x4 to a season-best 3:43.55 at the UW-WSU Dual, winning that race, and ranking eighth in school history ... also earned Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention.
2011: Achieved the long-awaited school record in the 400-meter dash on April 29 in the dual meet against Washington State, as she ran 54.18 seconds for the victory ... unfortunately suffered a hamstring tear right after that meet, and though she tried to run at the NCAA West Prelim Championships, she pulled up halfway through and did not finish ... broke the 55-second mark for the first time at the Mt. SAC Relays, running 54.74 to place 12th overall ... was third in the 400m at the Pepsi Team Invite, stopping the clock in 55.08 seconds ... ran on UW's top 4x100m relay of the season, going 45.93 seconds to win the Beach Invitational, a time that ranks ninth in school history ... competed three times during the indoor season, running on three 4x4 relays and running just one open 400m at the MPSF Championships, where she was 18th in 56.71 ... best 4x400m relay was 3:46.83 at the Husky Classic, the sixth-best time in school history, placing second ... earned Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention.
2010: The team's top quarter-miler had a strong finish to her season after missing the indoor season coming back from injury ... ran both relays plus the open 400 at the Pac-10 Championships ... anchored the 4x400m relay to a sixth-place finish at Pac-10s in a season-best time of 3:46.35 and ran the third leg on the 4x1 which took eighth ... 12th at Pac-10s in the 400-meters in a new PR of 55.96 seconds ... a double winner at the Ken Shannon Invitational, taking the 200-meter dash in a PR of 25.11 seconds, and ran on the winning 4x4 relay group ... fourth in the UW-WSU dual at 200-meters in a time of 25.12 ... earned Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention.
2009: Ran a full season outdoors and was UW's top 400-meter sprinter and ran on the team's top relays ... competed in the 400m dash at the Pac-10 Championships, taking 12th in the prelims in 56.18 ... also ran on the 4x1 relay that placed seventh and the ninth-place 4x4 relay at Pac-10s ... ran a PR of 56.13 in the 400 at the UW-WSU dual, placing third ... part of the winning 4x100m relay in the WSU dual, running 45.95 ... redshirted the indoor season.
High School and Personal: Born in Spokane ... parents are Connie Klein and David Carlson ... has two older brothers, Jason and Trevore, and two older sisters, Corrine and Jaime ... won the Washington 4A State title as a senior in the 4x400m relay, and placed 8th in the 200m dash and 9th in the 100-meters ... junior year, took fourth at state in both the 100m and 200m, and was second in the 4x400m and 7th in the 4x100m relays ... also placed top-eight at state in 2006 in the 200m and 4x200m relays ... interests include theatre, acting, snowboarding, wakeboarding and rock climbing ... also lettered three years in cross country, earning team's most inspirational award in 2007.
