» Johnson Takes Fourth At Canadian Nationals(GoHuskies.com; Nov. 36, 2011) 2011-12 (Cross Country): Enjoyed her best season yet, running in UW's top-five at every race and helping the Huskies to a second-place finish at the NCAA Championships, their third top-three finish in four years ... at the NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, she placed 65th as the fourth UW finisher, in a time of 20:45 for 6k ... that was an improvement of 37 places from her first trip to nationals ... earned a second straight All-West Region honor with a 13th-place finish at West Regionals at Stanford, fourth on the team, as the Huskies captured the Regional title for the fourth year in a row ... was the fifth Husky scorer at the inaugural Pac-12 Championships in Arizona, placing 23rd in 20:41 ... had a great run in the huge Wisconsin Invitational, as she placed 23rd, second among Huskies, in 20:38 as the Dawgs captured the team title against 17 ranked teams ... also was the second UW finisher at the Roy Griak Invite, placing 26th overall in her season-debut ... a week after the NCAA meet, she headed to Vancouver, B.C. for the 2011 Canadian Cross Country Nationals, and placed fourth in 26:03 over 7k in her first ever senior competition ... was awarded Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention. 2010-11: Continued to move up the ranks of the top mid-distance runners, scoring at the Pac-10 Championships and advancing to the NCAA quarterfinals at 1,500-meters ... qualified for the NCAA West Preliminary Championships, and advanced through the first round with a time of 4:24.31, then placed 18th in the semis in 4:25.46 ... made the Pac-10 final at 1,500-meters for the second straight year, and took seventh in a time of 4:28.60 ... won the 1,500-meter run in the UW-WSU dual, clocking a 4:26.51 ... set a new PR over 1,500-meters at the Mt. SAC Relays, placing fourth in the open race in 4:22.57 ... also ran a new 800-meter career-best at the Pepsi Team Invite, placing eighth in 2:10.53 ... indoors, placed fifth in the mile run at the MPSF Championships, running 4:48.25 ... also ran the opening 1,200m leg of the DMR at MPSFs, which took fourth in 11:20.85, the fourth-fastest time in school history ... ran a personal-best 4:45.72 in the mile at the UW Final Qualifier ... sixth in the 3,000-meters at the UW Invitational in 9:32.61 ... trimmed a second off that at the Husky Classic, running 9:31.86, the ninth-best 3k time on the school's top-10 list ... earned a spot on the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team as well as a Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention ... (Cross Country): Came on very strong late in the season to jump into UW's top-five and lead the Huskies to the NCAA Championships ... earned All-West Region honors with a seventh-place finish at the Regional meet, second among Huskies in a PR of 20:17, and a huge part of Washington winning its third straight Regional title ... was third among Huskies at her first ever NCAA Championship race, placing 102nd overall as UW finished 16th ... had never run in UW's top-five until the Pac-10 meet, where she shot up to third on the team and 15th overall in 20:31 ... ran in the open race at Pre-Nationals, finishing fourth overall ... sixth among Huskies at the Notre Dame Invite, crossing in 80th-place ... started her season with a 16th-place run at the Sundodger, her first official cross country race for UW ... earned Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention as well as earning USTFCCCA All-Academic honors. 2009-10: Excellent first season on the track as she reached the NCAA Championship West Prelims and made the Pac-10 final, both at 1,500-meters ... lowered her PR by seven seconds in the Pac-10 Championship prelim, posting a time of 4:24.57 to make the final, where she finished ninth in 4:26.98 ... finished 39th overall at the NCAA West Prelims 1,500-meter first round ... ran her 800-meter season-best at the Ken Shannon Invite, going 2:13.01 for second ... third in the 1,500-meters at the UW-WSU dual and fifth in the 800m ... ran 4:31.34 at the Mt. SAC Relays to take fourth in the 1,500m third section ... sixth in the Pepsi Team Invite 800-meters in 2:14.24 ... ended her indoor season with a breakout mile run as she PR'd by seven seconds at the UW Final Qualifier, clocking 4:47.90, less than a second off the NCAA Provisional time ... that came one race after another four-second PR at the MPSF Champoinships, where she was 10th in the mile at 4:54.69 ... took a total of 12 seconds off her mile time from the start of the indoor season, when she opened at 4:59.77 at the UW Indoor Preview ... ran the opening 1,200-meter leg on UW's top DMR of the season, which ran 11:37.79 to take sixth at MPSFs, also earning the No. 10 time in school history ... took fourth at the Canadian Junior Championships in the 1,500m in 4:35.23 ... also collected USTFCCCA All-Academic Team honors ... (Cross Country): A strong redshirt season in her first year, competing unattached to preserve eligibility ... finished 21st at the season-opening Sundodger Invite, third among unattached runners ... impressive second-place effort at the Emerald City Open, tops among freshmen ... ended the fall placing 13th at the Mike Hodges Invite in Oregon. High School and Personal: Born in Victoria, British Columbia ... parents are Anita and William Johnson ... has one older sister, Carmen ... competed at the World Junior Cross Country Championships in March of 2009, running for Team Canada in Amman, Jordan ... qualified for Worlds by placing fifth at the 2008 Canadian Junior XC Championships after taking 16th the previous year ... took fifth at the 2009 NACAC Championships in Florida ... finished sixth at the 2008 Canadian Junior Track Championships in the 1500-meters ... was the B.C. Provincial Cross Country Champion as a junior and a senior after placing second as a freshman and sophomore ... also took the provincial titles at 1500m and 3000m as a junior; did not defend titles as a senior due to illness ...
