Season Preview: Throws

An accomplished senior class will look to have its best season yet under a new coach's direction.

2012: Indoors, improved in the weight throw in all four of her appearances, finishing with a season-best toss of 42-feet, 3.25-inches at the Husky Classic ... outdoors, threw the hammer twice, with a best of 128-9 at the CNW Spring Break Open ... fifth in the hammer and the shot put at the UW-WSU Dual.

High School and Personal: Born in Peoria, Illinois ... parents are Jody and James Havens ... has one older brother, Jacob ... was second in the Evergreen League in the discus in 2009 and 2010 ... was 13th at the 2009 Washington 2A state meet in the discus ... earned team's Most Inspirational award as a senior ... competed for the Husky crew team as a freshman ... became a black belt in tae kwon do at the age of eleven and earned two victories and several more top-three finishes for Karate America in Madison, Wisc. ... lettered in volleyball in 2008 and 2009 ... graduated with a 3.96 grade point average and is considering a major in Bioresource Engineering.
