2012: Did not competed during the 2012 season while rehabbing an injury.

2011: Captured the Pac-10 Championship in the decathlon with a new PR of 7,742 points, the fourth-best score in school history, becoming the first Husky Pac-10 decathlon champ since Mike Ramos in 1986 ... won the Pac-10 title despite a torn elbow tendon that forced him to throw the javelin with his non-dominant left hand ... carried the same injury into the NCAA Outdoor Championships, but still placed 15th overall with 7,517 points to earn All-America Second Team honors ... at NCAAs, won the high jump competition with a clearance of 6-9 ¾ and had a discus PR, taking sixth at 137-2 ... in the Pac-10 decathlon, he set PRs at 100-meters (10.98), long jump (23-11 ½), high jump (6-11), and 400-meters (48.49), and placed in the top three in eight of the events, winning the high jump and 400m ... named Pac-10 Field Athlete of the Week after his decathlon victory ... returned to the Pac-10s the week after the decathlon and took eighth in the long jump at 23-11 ½, ninth in the 100m hurdles in 14.49 seconds, and 11th in the high jump at 6-9 ... took third in the UW-WSU dual in the 110m hurdles, pole vault (a PR of 15-11 ¼), and long jump ... also completed the decathlon at the Mt. SAC Relays, placing sixth with 7,335 points ... qualified for the NCAA West Prelims in the 110m hurdles, but was disqualified in his first round heat ... indoors earned All-America First Team honors and scored at nationals for the first time with an eighth-place finish in the heptathlon at the NCAA Indoor Championships ... at nationals, raised his school record to 5,780 points; highlights included personal bests at 60-meters (7.06), long jump (23-10 ¾), and the 60m hurdles (8.14) ... that long jump mark ranks fifth in school history indoors and the hurdles time ranks ninth ... also won the heptathlon at the UW Invitational with a then-school record of 5,746 points ... set a new PR in the high jump at the Husky Classic, taking second with a clearance of 6-11 ½ which is tied for seventh on the indoor top-10 ... scored at the MPSF Championships in the high jump, clearing 6-10 ¼ for fifth-place ... a Pac-10 All-Academic First Team selection ... named to the Capital One Academic All-District VIII Second Team ... named to the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team.

2010: Continued sharpening his skills to become one of the top multi-event athletes in the country ... qualified for the NCAA Championships in the decathlon, and was in sixth-place after day one, but suffered a concussion after falling over a hurdle in the first event of the second day and was unable to finish the meet ... was on pace for a fourth-place finish if he matched his day two score from his previous decathlon ... took second at the Pac-10 Championship Multi-Events behind only three-time NCAA champ Ashton Eaton, setting a big new personal-best score of 7,521 points that ranks fourth in Washington history ... at the Pac-10 Multis, won the high jump at 6-8 and the final 1,500-meter run by 10 seconds in 4:17.57, and was second in three more events ... came back to Berkeley to run the open 110m hurdles at Pac-10s, and placed fifth overall after running a big PR of 14.22 in the prelims that ranks eighth in school history ... set personal-bests in nearly every event in the decathlon, including career-bests in the 100-meter dash (11.02 seconds) and 400-meter dash (48.98) at NCAAs on day one ... took sixth at the Mt. SAC Relays decathlon with 7,289 points, his first multi-event in nearly a year, which included a PR in the pole vault (15-1) and shot put (41-6 ½) ... second in the long jump at the UW-WSU dual, leaping 23-0, a season-best ... redshirted the indoor season, competing at four indoor meets unattached ... indoor highlights included a 15-1 pole vault at the UW Indoor Open and a 50.11 400-meter dash at the UW Indoor Preview ... was selected to the Pac-10 All-Academic Second Team and earned USTFCCCA All-Academic Team distinction.

2009: Outstanding first year included an All-America honor for the indoor heptathlon and a school-record in the event ... placed 12th in the heptathlon at the NCAA Indoor Championships and the eighth-best American, scoring 5,389 points with season-bests in the 60m dash (7.17), long jump (23-10 ¼), and 60m hurdles (8.31) ... won the MPSF heptathlon title with a school record 5,559 points, helped by a career-best pole vault of 14-3 ¼ ... placed third at the Pac-10 Championships in his first ever completed decathlon, scoring 7,299 points, the sixth-best score in school history ... best event finishes at Pac-10's were second in long jump, high jump, and 110m hurdles ... qualified for NCAA Outdoor Championships in decathlon but could not compete due to an ankle injury ... also competed in open long jump (23-2) and triple jump (48-9) at Pac-10's, placing ninth in both ... won the long jump at the UW-WSU dual meet, jumping 22-6 ¼ and placed second in the triple jump with a Regional qualifier of 49-4 ¼ ... led the team in the high jump and long jump indoors, and the 110m hurdles, high jump, long jump, and triple jump outdoors ... named to the USTFCCCA Division-I All-Academic Team.

High School and Personal: Born in Ballard, Wash. ... parents are Irene Botero and Joseph Taiwo ... has one younger brother, Patrick ... father Joseph was a two-time Olympian competing for Nigeria at the 1984 and 1988 games, placing 9th both times in the triple jump ... mother Irene attended UW law school ... one of the best jumpers in recent state history ... won the 3A state triple jump and high jump titles as a sophomore, and set the sophomore state triple jump record with a mark of 48-3 ½ ... placed second in the triple and high jumps at the 2008 state meet after coming back from a foot injury that cause him to miss his junior year ... made it to state as a freshman as well in the high jump, finishing 8th ... overall athleticism evidenced by winning the boys decathlon at the 2008 Washington State Multi-Event Championships ... named a Seattle Times Prep Athlete of the Year ... also was part of the KingCo Champion 4x400m relay team in 2006 ... lettered in basketball, earning KingCo conference honorable mention ... graduated with a 3.8 GPA.
