Huskies Prep For Trials Around The World

Former Olympians Aretha Thurmond and Brad Walker lead contingent at U.S. Trials.

Christie Gordon comes to Seattle for her first season assisting sprints coach Raul Sheen. Gordon was a standout hurler for the University of Idaho, graduating in 2010.

At Idaho, Gordon qualified for the NCAA Regional and West Prelim Championships on three occasions. Her senior year, she was the WAC runner-up in the 100-meter hurdles, clocking a wind-legal career-best of 13.37 in the finals. That is the second-best time in Idaho school history. During her final indoor season, she won the 60-meter hurdles at the UW Final Qualifier in the Dempsey, running a career-best 8.37 seconds.

Continuing to improve post-collegiately, Gordon, an Alberta native, was fifth in the 100-meter hurdles at the 2011 Canadian National Championships. She ran a new PR of 13.20 in the prelims.

She was named to the All-WAC First Team four times in the 100-meter hurdles, and was also a USTFCCCA Division I All-Academic honoree.

Go Huskies!
