Women's Team Gets First Win In Pullman Since 2004

Meet records set by Jordan Carlson in the 400m and Shaniae Lakes in the triple jump.

2012: Ran at her second Pac-12 Championships, competing in the 400-meters and on the 4x400m relay ... set a career-best in the 400-meters at the UW-WSU Dual, running 56.21 seconds to edge a Cougar for third-place and earn a valuable point in the team win ... also ran on the winning 4x4 at the dual meet, which posted the No. 8 time in school history at 3:43.55 ... 4x4 relay was ninth at the Pac-12 meet in 3:43.77 ... opened her outdoor season with an eighth-place finish at the Pepsi Team Invite, going 56.59 seconds for 400m ... indoors, ran a season-best time of 57.27 seconds to take second in the 400m at the UW Final Qualifier ... led off the team's best 4x4, which ran 3:45.13 at the Husky Classic, the fourth-fastest time in school history ... earned Pac-12 All-Academic honorable mention.

2011: Consistent season for the freshman, as she ran at both conference championship meets and was part of three of the four top relays for the women's team, running on the fastest 4x400m relays indoors and out, and the fastest distance medley relay ... second on the team at 400-meters outdoors, with a best of 56.28 seconds at the Mt. SAC Relays ... placed 16th overall in the 400m dash at the Pac-10 Championships in 57.57 ... led off the 4x400m relay at Pac-10s which was seventh in a season-best 3:48.39 ... also ran on the 4x1 relay at Pac-10s which was seventh in 48.37 ... third in the 400m at the UW-WSU dual in 56.87 ... ran 56.79 for eighth in the quarter mile at the Pepsi Team Invite ... indoors, led the team at 400-meters and 800-meters, despite only running one 800-meter race ... ran 2:12.93 at the UW Final Qualifier over 800-meters ... season-best indoor 400m time of 56.57 seconds came at the MPSF Championships, placing 14th ... ran the 400-meter leg on UW's DMR at MPSFs, which placed fourth in a time of 11:20.85, the fourth-fastest in school history ... also led off the 4x4 relay at the Husky Classic which turned in the sixth-best time in school history, running 3:46.83.

High School and Personal: Born in Rochester, Minnesota ... parents are Jutta and Matthew Fero ... has one older sister, Anna, who was a member of the Husky cross country and track squad in 2007-08 ... great grandmother also attended UW in the 1930s ... qualified for four events at the 2010 Washington 3A State Championships, earning top-four finishes in all ... placed third in the 400-meters and fourth in the 200-meters at the 2010 meet, and ran on the third-place 4x400m relay and fourth-place 4x100m relay ...was second at the 3A state meet as a sophomore in the 400-meters, running 57.07 seconds ... qualified for state as a junior in both the 200m and 400m but was unable to compete ... won the SeaKing district title at 400-meters in 2009 and 2010 and was the Metro League champ at 200-meters and 400-meters both years as well ... also won the Metro League 400m dash title as a sophomore in 2008 ... team captain in 2009 and 2010 ... competed in the pole vault as a freshman, winning the Metro League title ... also competed in swimming and diving in 2007 and 2008, placing eighth at the state diving meet in 2008 ... graduated with a 4.0 grade point average.
