Season Preview: Sprinters

The men's team returns a handful of All-Americans while the women are led by a school-record-holding senior.

2012: Competed at three meets indoors in the 60m dash ... clocked a PR in the finals of the UW Final Qualifier, finishing fifth in 7.04 seconds ... ran identical 7.12 times in his three previous races ... did not compete outdoors.

2011: Competed four times during the outdoor season in the short sprints ... opened the outdoor season with a wind-aided 11.02 time in the 100-meters at the Stanford Invite ... season-best 11.10 at the Beach Invitational in Long Beach ... ran the 60-meter dash three times indoors, with a PR of 7.06 seconds at the Husky Classic, where he placed 17th overall.

High School and Personal: Born in Owerri, Nigeria ... mother is Gertrude Egu ... has one older sister, Karen, and one younger brother, Victor ... also plays football for the Huskies, playing free safety as a freshman ... a two-time All-American on the track ... as a junior, was named East Bay Athletic League First Team and First Team North Coast Section ... qualified for the California state meet as a junior, finishing 11th in the 100-meters in a PR of 10.71 seconds ... also was 12th at the state meet in the 200m in 21.78, and third in the 4x100m relay ... third at the 2009 Stanford Invitational in the 100m in 10.76 ... part of the winning 4x100m relay team at the 2009 Arcadia Invite ... competed at the 2009 National Scholastic Indoor Championships in New York, placing sixth overall in the 60m dash and winning the 4x200m relay ... fifth at the 2009 Simplot Games in Pocatello, Idaho, running 6.98 in the 60m dash ... did not run track as a senior ... graduated with a 3.4 GPA.
