02/03/2012 Track And Field Captain's Blog - Feb. 3The Husky sprint captains send in an update before competing this weekend in Idaho. 01/05/2012 Season Preview: SprintersThe men's team returns a handful of All-Americans while the women are led by a school-record-holding senior. 2012: Competed just twice at the start of the indoor season ... ran on the 4x4 relay that posted a 3:55.51 at the UW Indoor Preview ... clocked 26.66 seconds for 200-meters at the UW Invitational. 2011: Improved over her first season and added key depth to the relay pools ... opened her outdoor season with a personal-best at 200-meters, running 25.81 seconds at the Stanford Invitational ... was sixth in the 200m at the Pepsi Team Invitational in 25.85 seconds and was fifth on the 4x400m relay ... season-best 100m time of 12.45 seconds at the Beach Invitational ... indoors, was part of the second-place 4x400m relay which posted the sixth-best time in school history at the Husky Classic, stopping the clock in 3:46.83 ... indoor PR of 25.56 for 200m came at the Husky Classic ... lowered her 60-meter PR to 7.82 seconds at the MPSF Championships, placing 20th ... ran on the 4x4 relay that was seventh at MPSFs in 3:48.53 ... a Pac-10 All-Academic honorable mention. 2010: Busy rookie campaign as she ran the 100- and 200-meter dashes at five meets during the outdoor season ... ranked third on the team at 100-meters, submitting a season-best sprint of 12.43 seconds at the UW-WSU dual meet, taking sixth ... also set her 200-meter PR in Pullman, clocking 26.06 seconds ... took second at the Ken Shannon Invite in the 100m, running 12.55 into a strong headwind ... 10th at the Pepsi Team Invite in 12.56 seconds and was part of UW's third-place 4x1 relay in 47.28 seconds ... competed at every meet during the indoor season, posting the second-best time at 60-meters and 200-meters on the squad ... finished third overall in the 60-meters at the UW Final Qualifier with a season-best time of 7.82 seconds in the prelims ... top 200-meter time of 25.86 seconds turned in at the Husky Classic ... competed at her first MPSF meet, taking 18th in the 60-meters in 7.94 seconds and 24th at 200-meters in 26.12. High School and Personal: Born in Bellevue, Washington ... parents are Carmencita Carter and Gary Carr ... has one older brother, Garrison, who played basketball at American University ... a four-time qualifier at the Washington 3A state championships, and a six-time KingCo League Champion in the 100 and 200-meter dashes ... won the SeaKing district 100m dash title as a senior ... best state finish was second-place in the 100-meters in 2008 with a time of 12.10 seconds ... also placed fifth in the 100m at state as a freshman and as a senior, and was fifth in the 200m as a junior ... also ran on numerous state qualifying relays, including the second-place 4x200m relay in 2009 ... named Issaquah's Rotary Athlete of the Year in 2009 ... ran at 2008 Junior Olympics in the 4x100-meters, finishing eighth.
