Coach Crater On Campbell
We are very fortunate to have signed Carey Campbell this year. Carey is someone I feel has just started to grow into his throwing, and I think he is going to really take off in the shot put soon. His current PR is no indication of where he will end the upcoming year, and where the future can take him at UW. He has great size and athleticism, and is one of the most explosive high school athletes I've been around. He will be a sleeper that people will have to watch in years to come.

A talented local thrower, the Lake Stevens native was third in the shot put at the 2012 Washington 4A state meet, throwing a PR in the finals of 56-6 ¼ ... that mark ranked fourth overall in the state last year and is tops among returners ... finished right behind current UW freshman Jack Scheideman in the 2012 shot put final, and just ahead of another Husky commit, Dan Boyden ... won the WesCo title in the shot last season with a toss of 54-3 ... made steady progress each year, improving his PR by four feet his sophomore year, and then by eight feet during his junior year ... was 14th at state as a sophomore in 2011 in the shot.
