High School and Personal: Born in Seattle ... parents are Julie and Bill Blume ... sister Courtney is also a freshman at Washington ... both parents attended Washington as well as did numerous aunts, uncles, and grandparents going back four generations ... was the Washington State 3A runner-up at 800-meters in 2010, clocking 1:53.75 in the final ... won the Metro League title as a senior, running a PR of 1:53.38 to set the school record ... also ran a school-record 49.4 in the 400-meters and set the 4x800m relay record ... named Team MVP as a senior ... placed 12th in the 800-meters at the state meet as a junior in 2009 ... did not compete in track until his junior year, playing tennis as a freshman and soccer as a sophomore ... four-year honor roll student and graduated with honors ... ran varsity cross country for the first time as a senior, placing 12th at the district meet and 83rd overall at the state meet, helping the team to seventh overall, earning Newcomer of the Year honors ... graduated with a 3.6 GPA.
