The captains of the UW distance runners take the first turn updating
All-Americans Flood and Goethals lead the women while a number of veteran Husky men are poised for breakout seasons.
2012: Season shortened by injury after just two indoor meets ... ran on the 4x400m and 4x800m relays at the UW Indoor Preview, then ran a 2:19.06 800-meter time at the UW Invitational.
2011: Only competed during the indoor season, running the 800-meters, mile, and 4x400m relays ... top 800m time of 2:18.32 came at the UW Final Qualifier, placing 14th ... ran 5:13.82 for the mile at the Husky Classic ... ran on the 4x4 at the UW Indoor Preview and Husky Classic, a best time of 3:59.47 at the Classic.
2010: Ran at four indoor meets, competing in the 400m, 600m, 800m, and 4x400m relays ... season-best 800-meter time of 2:19.17 came at the UW Invitational, where she also ran on UW's 4x4 which clocked 4:02.98 ... redshirted the outdoor season, competing twice unattached ... ran the 800m at the WWU Twilite Meet and Ken Shannon Invite, clocking nearly identical times of 2:19.95 and 2:19.94, respectively.
High School and Personal: Born in Spokane, Washington ... parents are Jeanine and William Before ... has one older sister, Renee, who also attends UW and one younger brother, Drew ... was fifth at the 3A state meet her senior year in the 800-meters, running a PR in the final of 2:16.97 ... also competed at state in the long jump and on the 4x400m relay ... as a junior in 2008, ran lead-off on the state champion 4x400m relay that was anchored by current Husky teammate Jordan Carlson ... was the CBBN/GSL Regional Champ as a senior in the 800m ... two-time first team All-Greater Spokane League in track ... also a three year letterwinner in volleyball, and helped lead the team to the state championship in 2008 ... named second team All-State in volleyball in 2008 ... was her school's Athlete of the Year for 2008-09 and was the WIAA Student-Athlete of the Week in September 2008 ... earned the state volleyball sportsmanship award three years ... graduated with a 4.0 GPA as her class valedictorian.
