One of the top sprinters in the state, with two Washington State 4A track titles to his credit, winning the 300-meter hurdles in 2010 and 2011 ... now focusing more on the sprints, and currently leads the state of Washington at 100-meters and 200-meters ... opened his senior season with a PR of 10.64 at 100-meters and 21.44 in the 200-meters and also has lowered his 400-meter best by three seconds to 48.04 ... won the 2012 Pasco Invite at 200m in 21.72 and 400m in 48.69 ... in 2011 as a junior, won the hurdles title at state and placed third in the 200-meters final and second in the 4x100-meter relay final ... won Junior Olympic Regionals in 2011, taking the 200m in 21.49 ... also was fourth in the 200-meter state final as a sophomore and second again in the 4x100m relay ... made state in two events as a freshman, placing sixth in both the 300m hurdles and 4x400-meter relay.

Wes comes to UW from a great track factory at Mead HS, and an outstanding coach and leader in John Mires, so I am really excited about the contributions he will make on our team. Wes won a state championship in the 300H (38.20) as a sophomore, but decided that he wanted to pursue the sprint races a bit more. After running 21.49 for 200m, and being a part of the USATF Junior Olympic National Championship 4x400 team (3:10.55), I was sold. He has tremendous upside as a collegiate sprinter, and it will be a blast to watch him carry the baton for us in both the relay races. Wes is a team-first kind of guy, and he fits in perfectly with our group. He will have an immediate impact here at Washington.
