Coach Metcalf On Yarnall
The state of California is incredibly deep and he was the state runner-up in cross country. He comes from a great cross country program in Saugus. He's a fierce competitor, and he's poised to do some big things on the track this spring. He's a guy who's mature enough to come right in next fall and make our team.


Coming off an excellent senior cross country season where he placed second at the California State Championships at the Div. 5 level ... his time of 15:10 for 5,000-meters at the 2012 state meet was the fifth-fastest across all divisions ... ran at the 2012 Nike Cross Nationals meet in Portland, taking 41st-place overall ... was seventh at the 2012 Mt. SAC Cross Country Invite and third at the same race in 2011 ... placed fourth in the CIF-SS finals in 2012 ... as a sophomore, finished 29th at the state cross country meet ... on the track, won the Foothill League title in 2012 at 3,200-meters, and set a PR at that distance of 9:14.14 at the Distance Meet of Champions, taking third.
