LOG BOOM MOORAGE
Once again, the University of Washington, Windermere Real Estate and the Seattle Yacht Club are excited to host the Windermere Cup Opening Day Regatta and Boat Parade along the shores of Lake Washington.
We are committed to keeping Opening Day and the Windermere Cup Regatta a community event that may be enjoyed by all. Rather than requiring payment, we are asking all boaters who tie up to the log boom to register and donate a minimum of $10 per foot of beam width. Although contributions will not completely cover log boom expenses (installation, management, and insurance exceeds $40,000 annually), they will greatly help to offset these expenses.
The only way to guarantee your space is to make a contribution in advance. Those that do not register and donate in advance may tie up to the east end of the log boom if space is available. There is no assurance that space will be available.
Please return the Boat Moorage Donation form by Friday, April 19th, along with your donation. Access to the log boom begins at noon on Thursday, May 2nd and you must arrive before 8 a.m. on Saturday, May 4th. Be aware that the Seattle Harbor Patrol will limit access through and around the Montlake Cut beginning 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 4th.
Participation by all boaters is essential if we are to maintain moorage based solely on donations. Also, please note that gifts to the Dick Erickson Memorial Fund and the Husky Band/Cheer are welcome, but are separate from log boom moorage donations.
Thank you for your support, and please, help us keep Opening Day festivities safe and enjoyable.
