Major at Washington: Anthropology

Husky Rowing Experience: 2000 (Freshman) -- Coxed the freshman eight to a victory over cross-state rival Washington State during the dual regatta in. 2001 (Sophomore) -- Coxed the Huskies to a victory in the open eight race at the Windermere Cup ... led the UW varsity eight to a win at Washington State in the annual dual regatta ... directed the varsity four boat that placed second to California in the dual race. 2002 (Junior) -- Coxed the open four that won gold at that IRA Championships ... member of four that placed second at Pac-10's ... led Huskies to victories at Windermere Cup and the Oregon State dual.

Personal: Daughter of Cheryl and Donald Wengard ... father is a mechanic and mother is a grade school teacher ... has an older brother, Bryce (25).

I chose Washington because: Great environment, high academic diversity and a brilliant rowing program.
The best thing about Seattle is: Being surrounded by the mountains and water. You can always find something to do outside any season.
The best thing about UW is: You're constantly around new and different people.
My best race was: The 2002 IRA men's open four. We brought home Washington's first title in this event and set a new course record.
After I graduate, I plan to: Work as an instructor and horse trainer.
If I could tell my incoming teammates one thing, it would be: Take the initiative.
