Husky Rowing Experience: 2001 (Freshman) - Rowed two seat in the varsity four that won a gold medal and helped lead UW to the team title at NCAA Championships ... rowed six seat in the novice eight that earned victories at Pac-10 Championships, Windermere Cup and San Diego Crew Classic ... helped UW to two wins at Cal dual, rowing in the novice eight and again in two seat of the varsity four.

2002 (Sophomore) -- Sat bow seat in the varsity eight that captured the NCAA national championship ... member of the varsity eight that went undefeated during the regular season ... won the 11th consecutive gold medal for Washington's varsity eight at Pac-10's ... Helped the Huskies collect victories at the Cal, Wisconsin, Washington State and Oregon duals, and also at the Windermere Cup and San Diego Crew Classic regattas.

2003 (Junior) - Member of the varsity eight that placed fourth at the NCAA Championships and helped Washington to a third place team finish ... captured a silver at Pac-10's and helped UW win the conference team title ... part of varsity eight crew that placed second behind Belarus at the Windermere Cup Regatta ... helped lead the Huskies varsity eight to victories in the Caifornia, Washington State and Oregon State duals.

National Team Experience: Competed with the U.S. Junior National Team ... rowed in the eight at the 2000 Junior World Championships in Zagreb, Croatia and finished fourth ... competed in a pair and finished seventh at 1999 Junior Worlds in Bulgaria ... was invited to the U.S. national selection camp, but was unable to attend.

Personal: Daughter of Vicki and Bill Stenken ... mother attended Sacramento State and is an elementary school teacher ... father attended Long Beach State and owns an insurance company ... has one older brother, Gerrett (25), a PHD student at Indiana University.

I chose Washington because: I wanted to be a part of the best women's rowing team in the country.
The best thing about Seattle is: The nature, the water, the beauty and the diversity.
The best thing about UW is: It's a great school and it has an amazing rowing team.
My best race was: NCAA Championships, 2001 and 2002. Result: first place both times. It's nice to get out ahead and stay ahead, It doesn't have to be a close race to be a good race.
After I graduate, I plan to: Get my California teaching credential and become a teacher.
If I could tell my incoming teammates one thing, it would be: Take things seriously and work hard.
