Husky Rowing Experience: 2002 (Freshman) - Novice squad member. 2003 (Sophomore) - Coxed the varsity four that won the petite final at the NCAA Championships, placing seventh overall ... Directed crew to the varsity four silver medal at the Pac-10 championships, helping UW to the team title ... coxed the varsity four that won the Windermere Cup Regatta and the Oregon State dual ... placed second at the California and Washington State duals. 2004 (Junior) - Coxed the varsity eight at the San Diego Crew Classic ... spent the rest of the season with the junior varsity eight ... battled an illness that limited her during fall training and prevented her from competing at the NCAA Championships ... collected a bronze medal with the junior varsity at the Pac-10 Championships.

Personal: Daughter of Penny and Mike Ryan ... father attended San Diego State and is a business owner ... mother attended Ball State University and is in graphic design ... has a younger brother Jeffery (18) who is a freshman at the U.S. Naval Academy and two younger sisters, Claire (5) and Jillian (1).

I chose Washington because: It was an all around good school and it was on the West Coast.
The best thing about Seattle is: How green everything is.
The best thing about UW is: The squirrels that jump out of the trashcans.
Favorite Class: Human Motor Control.
My best race was: Windermere Cup 2002 - We were five seats down to Stanford at the bridge and we came back to win.
After I graduate, I plan to: Go to graduate school and become a sports psychologist.
