Husky Rowing Experience: 2002 (Freshman) -- Member of the novice eight that placed third at Pac-10 and helped Washington win the team title ... member of eight that placed second at the San Diego Crew Classic and the Washington State dual ... member of crew that was victorious at Windermere Cup Opening Day races as well as the California and Oregon State duals.

2003 (Sophomore) -- Rowed No. 2 seat for the second varsity four boat during the season ... helped crew to second-place performance at the Oregon State dual ... second varsity four placed third in the Washington State and California duals and fourth at the Winderrmere Cup ... rowed the No. 2 seat in the crew that won the third varsity eight race in the Oregon State dual.

Personal: Daughter of Marcia and Cameron Hershaw ... mother attended Eastern Washington University and is a physical education teacher ... father attended the University of Idaho and is a police captain ... has one younger brother, Reiner (14) and one younger sister, Brenda (16).

I chose Washington because: It is close to home and the campus is awesome.

My best race was: San Diego Crew Classic 2003. We were neck and neck with Cal and WSU the entire race. Cal pulled up a couple of seats and in the last 250 we walked through them and won the race!
After I graduate, I plan to: Hopefully begin a career and begin to "grow up!!"
If I could tell my incoming teammates one thing, it would be: Get ready to get your butt kicked for four years, but realize it will all be worth it once racing season comes! Oh yea - NEVER BE LATE!
