Husky Rowing Experience: 2005 (Sophomore) --Promoted into the junior varsity eight crew after helping the varsity four to the Pac-10 championship ... rowed in the No. 3 seat at the Pac-10 regatta ... also rowed for UW's varsity four in dual race victories over California and Oregon State ... the Huskies' won the varsity four race at the Windermere Cup ... rowed in the No. 5 seat for the junior varsity crew that won the petite final at the NCAA championships. 2004 (Freshman) --Joined the rowing team midseason after training in the fall with the track and field team ... competed for the novice eight that won the California dual and Windermere Cup races ... promoted to the junior varsity eight for the Oregon State dual, which UW won ... rowed in the No. 3 seat for the UW junior varsity that placed third at the Pac-10 Championships. Personal: Daughter of Crystal and Rob Grigsby ... mother attended UW and is a fourth grade teacher ... father attended Chicago State and is a homicide detective ... has two brothers, Benjamin (22) and Michael (21) and one sister, Brittany (16) ... is fluent in Spanish from studying abroad for three months in the summer of 2005. I chose Washington because: It is a lovely campus and I was drawn to the people here.
