Huskies win at IRAs, U-23 World Championships detailed in latest USRowing magazine

High School Sports: Rowing, Swimming.
Honors and Awards: Earned three letters in swimming in high school ... Captain of swim team and the rowing team as a senior ... Won a gold medal in the jr. men's eight at the 2007 Club National Championships, and a silver medal in the youth eight at the 2007 Youth Invitational. All Pac-10 Academic First Team 2009.
Major at Washington: History and Political Science.

Husky Rowing Experience: 2009 (Junior) - Won the Washington State Dual... Stroked the open four to win at the IRA National Championships 2007 (Freshman) - Rowed in the freshmen four that won a gold medal and set a course record at the 2008 Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships in Cherry Hill, NJ.

Personal: Son of Margaret Niles and Stephen Garratt ... Father attended UW and is a priest ... mother is a lawyer ... cousin Peter McCorkell attended UW and was a rower ... Has two younger brothers, Andrew (18) and Daniel (15).
