2017 (Freshman): Played in 26 games, starting one... Came in to pinch run in 14 games, pinch hit in 15 and played in right field at Arizona (March 26)... Totaled one hit, two RBIs and six runs.
Club/High School: Hailing from Snohomish, Wash., Simons is a right-handed pitcher and outfielder who can also perform at the play. A power hitter from the right side, Simons' speed will rival some of Washington's fastest players. She was named to the Herald's All-Area team as a sophomore after going 10-0 as the No. 2 pitcher for Snohomish and also hit .443 with four triples and four home runs. Last season she had a 15-2 record in the circle with a .456 batting average.
What is your favorite part about being a Husky?
My favorite part about being a Husky is being in an environment with high standards where everyone is constantly competing.
What is the best part about playing for Coach Tarr?
The best part about playing for Coach Tarr is that she expects us to always give 100% of what we have on any given day, but she is also a very caring person.
Why did you choose the number you wear?
I chose the number I wear because it has been my favorite number since I was six years old. I’ve worn the number 6 for the majority of my softball career and I feel as if it is part of my identity as a softball player.
