Hosted by former UW quarterback Johnny DuRocher, The Dawg Dish goes behind the scenes to give viewers a different perspective on the lives and activities of Husky sports personalities. It is available for free viewing via Dawg Channel All-Access on GoHuskies.com.
Did you know that the UW houses the LARGEST Academic Support Staff for their student-athletes in the Pac-10, boasting of 14 staff members and 85 tutors?
Can you believe the year that we just had in Men's Basketball? Pac-10 Champions! Remembering the exuberant celebration that took place in the Bank of America Arena after we beat the Cougars to clinch the regular season title still makes my heart swell with pride. The team effort that it took to achieve something that had not occurred for fifty-three years is something to be very proud of, and you - our Tyee season ticketholders - were an essential part of that effort. Without your support and dedication to our department and to our programs, we would not be able to provide our student-athletes with the opportunities to compete for and win championships.
The 2009-10 basketball season will be here before you know it. Coach Romar and his team are already gearing up for another banner year. With the majority of this year's championship team returning and the addition of some prized recruits, Husky basketball will again be ready to take on the country's best. Women's basketball is poised to have a break-out year as well, and Coach Jackson wants you to be a part of it. Fan support is a key component to success, and our teams need you by their side.
With that in mind, it is time to renew your Tyee Club season tickets. I encourage you to consider joining one of our team support groups in order to enjoy special VIP benefits and opportunities to spend time with our coaches and student-athletes.
Thank you so much for all that you do for our basketball programs. Your contributions make it possible for us to continue to attract and recruit some of the best talent in the country and play a key role in our success. I cannot wait to see you back out on the hardwood next season!
