Park-and-Ride Football Bus Service

The University of Washington will continue a free bus service started more than 20 years ago that provides fans attending Husky Football games with transportation to the team's home games this season. For the remainder of the 2009 season, all Husky Park & Ride locations will be served by King County Metro coaches. In addition, Husky Football tickets will continue to be honored as fare media on other Metro routes and Sound Transit route 554. Wheelchair-accessible service will be available from all locations on any given gameday to transport fans to the games.

In addition to the free Park & Ride service, Husky Football ticket holders will continue to be able to utilize any of Metro's regular-scheduled routes free of charge by showing the driver their game ticket for that day.

The free Park & Ride service will begin two hours prior to the scheduled kickoff of each home football game, with buses departing each location every 20 minutes. The final in-bound buses will depart approximately 50 minutes prior to kickoff (Exception: The last buses from the South Renton and the Federal Way Park & Rides leave 60 minutes prior to kickoff). Buses will return to Park & Ride lots immediately after each contest.

Park & Ride locations utilized for this service include: Northgate, South Kirkland, Eastgate, South Renton, Shoreline, Federal Way, Kingsgate, and Houghton. For more specific information, visit http://transit.metrokc.gov.

Biking

Leave the congestion behind and save on parking. Bicycling is a great way to get to the game for the whole family.

It's easy to get to the game by bike. The Burke-Gilman Trail, one of the nation's premier bicycling trails, runs from Ballard to Bothell and goes right past Husky Stadium along the way.

Once you get to the stadium, lock up to one of the many bicycle racks, or skip the lock and use the valet bicycle parking service. Be sure to bike to the game on September 12 and party at the bike tailgate party. Bikers can buy game tickets for $46 (regular rate $55).

Bike Maps can help you plan your route.

Walking

Arriving By Boat
Stern gating is a great way to get to a football game at Husky Stadium. Many Husky fans arrive by boat, moor in Lake Washington, and pick up the easy shuttle boat service to the dock adjacent to the stadium.

After you anchor in the bay, signal the boat shuttle service driver with a hand wave that you wish to be picked up for the inbound trip to the stadium. The ride inbound is free; you pay for the outbound trip. Tickets for the outbound trip can be purchased for $6 at the Waterfront Activity Center before entering the stadium. Children under 12 ride free.

Boat moorage requires a permit, available on a season or single game day basis. Your application, including a copy of your vessel registration and proof of insurance, must reach the Tyee Office by the Thursday before game day.
