October 22, 2025 | Football, Student-Athlete Academic Services
SEATTLE – Washington senior running back Jonah Coleman has been named a finalist for the 2025 William V. Campbell Trophy, college football's premier scholar-athlete award.
Coleman is one of 16 finalists for the award and one of two from the Big Ten Conference. He is the first Husky to be named a finalist since Elijah Molden in 2020.
Each finalist will receive an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship as a member of the 2025 NFF National Scholar-Athlete Class. The finalists will travel to the Bellagio Resort & Casino in Las Vegas for the 67th NFF Annual Awards Dinner in Las Vegas on Dec. 9, where their accomplishments will be highlighted in front of one of the most powerful audiences in all of sports. Live during the event, one member of the class will be declared as the winner of the 36th Campbell Trophy® and have his postgraduate scholarship increased to $25,000.
In the classroom, Coleman boasts a 3.93 GPA while working towards his degree in education studies: sports and education that he will earn in December. He was also one of two Washington student-athletes invited to present to the University of Washington Board of Regents to share his student-athlete perspective on the broader impact of institutional decisions.
On the field, Coleman leads the nation with 12 rushing touchdowns and 13 total touchdowns. His 78 total points scored is second in the nation. Coleman has rushed for 568 yards while also catching 23 passes for 284 yards. His 129.86 all-purpose yards per game ranks eighth in the FBS. He was also named a First Team All-Purpose Midseason All-American selection by Associated Press, The Athletic, Athlon and CBS Sports.
